A New York Times and USA Today bestseller!

What a heartwarming, uplifting story! Little Red Sleigh has a dream to be Santa’s sleigh! But, when everyone tells her it won’t happen, she sets off on her own adventure to find Santa. Will Little Red Sleigh become Santa’s famous sleigh? Find out in this beautifully crafted book children and adults will both love!

There’s Pete! All settled in his own Red Sleigh (from Target dollar section last year). On Day 7 he is including a little treat bag for the kiddos, and of course showing off that beautiful book he brought and his own red sleigh he made (activity below).

His note:

Do you like my Little Red Sleigh? I made it myself! And, you can too! Read the book first, and you’ll find the materials you need at your table spots! + some fun worksheets! Enjoy! Love, Pete

(Note: I’ve started putting their worksheets and craft materials at the table, all ready to go instead of where they find Pete. I find it helps to have it all ready, especially on school days when we are rushing. There have been days we wait until after school to complete the crafts as well!)

Steps for Day 7:

  1. Make a little red sleigh using popsicle sticks, clothes pins, hot glue gun (normal glue will work too, but takes longer to dry), red paint, and any kind of ribbon or string! (See pics/directions below on how to make).

  2. Hide Elf anywhere you like. If you have a “sleigh” decoration to put him in, great! If not, just make it fun for the kids to look for him. Place the book and little red sleigh near by.

  3. Build another little red sleigh with each kiddo (or have them pre-built depending on age and just let them paint).

  4. Complete free printables!

You will need 4 popsicle sticks and 2 clothes pins for each sleigh.

Use scissors to cut popsicles to correct length. One popsicle stick will need to be just a tad longer than three popsicle sticks side by side. See below for steps.

Step 1. Cut them to correct size.

Step 1.

Hot glue little piece between two clothes pins.

Step 3.

Hot glue 3 shorten popsicle sticks with curved side at top, side by side in between popsicle sticks.

Step 4.

Add ribbon. I did end up double knotting it. :)

Step 5

Let kiddos paint it red! (or whatever color they like for fun!)
