I am SO glad I found this magical book! Not only can my family relate to it so well (with my husband being from Australia, we have family in New Zealand, Australia, as well as other states in the US), the interactive fun it brings will keep the kiddos engaged throughout!
Mia’s grandpa lives far away, and she is missing him. She makes a card for him but is afraid it won’t get to him in time for Christmas. But when she comes across a door to the Reindeer Express, she begins an adventure that brings her exactly where she needs to be.
If you have family and/or friends that your kiddos miss (especially during the holidays), this is the PERFECT story for them.
As for Pete…
We had a little fake reindeer that Pete hopped on. Holding a letter to his mom and dad. :)
Note to add:
Hi Kids! I’ve found the Reindeer Express! I made a card for my mom and dad while they are back at the North Pole to bring them tonight! I hope you make a card for a loved one that lives far away as well. Send it in the mail! I know it would make their day!
Love, Pete
Steps for Day 9:
If you have some kind of toy reindeer, have him hop on that just like in the story. If not, just tape a little card like seen above on his hands and in the note add: “Looking for my reindeer express” or “going to send this in the post!”
Read Last Stop on the Reindeer Express.
Have kiddos make a card for a loved one that lives far away to send in mail. I just plan on folding a piece of paper in half and letting them decorate and write whatever they like :)
Complete free printable below!
This can either be a simple coloring page for the littles, and/or older kiddos can draw children on each of the reindeer as seen in the book.

I hope you and your family enjoyed this sweet, sweet story and easy crafts!
