This sweet Christmas book has it all… a fantastic read aloud due to all the onomatopoeia, a beautiful message, diversity, gorgeous illustrations and the CHRISTMAS SPIRIT!

As a mother and daughter enjoy the sights and sounds of the Christmas Spirit all around them, the little girl is also spreading the spirit everywhere she goes! Once she gets to Santa, she has the most beautiful Christmas wish of all!

With this story, I am focusing on spreading the Christmas spirit. So our elf, Pete, is also going to encourage spreading the Christmas spirit!

I will be placing Pete near an empty box (big enough to put in a few toys) with this book and his note will read:

“Good morning kids!

Please read this amazing story about a little girl who spreads Christmas spirit! I would like you to spread it as well by choosing 1 or 2 (or MORE!) of your toys that you would like to donate. It will make another child very happy!

Thanks for doing your part to spread the Christmas Spirit!

Love, Pete

Steps for Day 11:

  1. Hide elf with empty box, note, and the book, I Got the Christmas Spirit

  2. Read I Got the Christmas Spirit (or watch on Youtube)

  3. Activity idea: have kid/s fill the box! Talk about donating… why we donate, who needs our donations, etc. Encourage kids to donate toys that yes, they may be done playing with, but also in good condition that will make another child really happy!

  4. Complete free printables below!

Simple coloring sheet following some of the ways the little girl from the story spread Christmas spirit.

Here is a journal page asking the kids to think about ways they will spread Christmas spirit. Have them draw a picture of what they will do, and depending on age, have them write it on the line or tell an adult and have adult write it.

I hope your family enjoyed I Got the Christmas Spirit and activities to help spread their own Christmas spirit!

Please remember to review these books after reading. Reviews really, really help authors!
